Elevate your barbecue with my Candied Jalapeno BBQ Sauce, combining the fiery kick of jalapenos with the sweet richness of caramelized sugar. Perfect for glazing meats, enhancing grilled veggies, or as a zesty dip, this easy-to-make sauce adds a bold, unforgettable flavor to any dish.
In a medium saucepan, combine the ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, honey, molasses, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir over medium heat until the mixture is well combined and the sugar has dissolved.
Stir in the mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, ground cumin, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix thoroughly to ensure the spices are evenly distributed.
Add the finely chopped candied jalapeños to the saucepan. Stir well to incorporate the jalapeños into the sauce mixture.
Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce cook for about 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally. This allows the flavors to meld together and the sauce to thicken.
Taste the sauce and add salt and black pepper to taste. If you prefer a sweeter or tangier sauce, adjust the brown sugar or vinegar accordingly.
Once the sauce has reached your desired consistency and flavor, remove it from the heat. Allow it to cool before transferring it to a clean, airtight container.
Notes
You can use Granulated sugar instead of Brown sugar to make this favorite recipe.
