Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups fresh cherries pitted and halved
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  • Add ketchup, bourbon, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, and ground mustard to the saucepan. Stir well to combine.
  • Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, then reduce heat to low.
  • Carefully add halved cherries to the saucepan.
  • Allow the sauce to cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cherries have softened and the sauce has thickened.
  • Season with salt and black pepper to taste, adjusting as needed.
  • For a smoother consistency, transfer the sauce to a blender or use an immersion blender to puree until smooth.
