Equipment

  • Medium saucepan
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Stirring spoon
  • Blender (optional, for smoother sauce)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cowboy candy candied jalapeños, finely chopped
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • First, in your medium saucepan, mix together the ketchup and apple cider vinegar. Warm these over medium heat to get them nicely combined.
  • Throw in your finely chopped cowboy candy along with a generous splash of the syrup it comes in. This is your flavor foundation, so make sure it's mixed well.
  • Introduce the brown sugar, honey, and molasses to the saucepan. Keep stirring to ensure everything dissolves and combines into a seamless blend.
  • Now it's time to add the Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and season with salt and black pepper. Adjust these according to your taste preference.
  • Reduce the heat to low and let your sauce simmer for about 20-25 minutes. You'll want to stir occasionally to prevent any sticking or burning. The sauce should thicken nicely.

Notes

You can use Granulated sugar instead of Brown sugar to make this favorite recipe.
