Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 cup pitted cherries
  • ½ cup sugar adjust to taste
  • ¼ cup orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest optional
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • In a saucepan, add cranberries, cherries, sugar, orange juice, orange zest, cinnamon, red pepper flakes, and a pinch of salt.
  • Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves and the fruits start to soften.
  • Reduce the heat and cook for 10–12 minutes until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens.
  • Taste and adjust sweetness or spice as desired. Let it cool before serving—perfect for topping meats or desserts.

Notes

Transfer the mixture to a blender or food processor and blend until the mixture reaches a smooth consistency.
