- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- ½ medium onion finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup dry white wine
- ½ teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
- ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Fresh cilantro chopped (optional garnish)
Heat olive oil and butter in a pan over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until soft, about 3 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and sauté for another 30 seconds.
Pour in the white wine, let it simmer for 3–4 minutes until slightly reduced.
Stir in heavy cream, ground cumin, oregano, and smoked paprika—season with salt and black pepper. Simmer gently for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add freshly squeezed lemon juice and stir well. Let it simmer for another minute to blend flavors.
