Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups fresh guava pulp 4-5 ripe guavas, seeds removed
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons minced onion
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Blend guava pulp until smooth. Strain to remove seeds.
  • In a saucepan, mix guava puree, ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, paprika, cumin, ginger, tomato paste, lemon juice, and onion.
  • Bring mixture to a simmer over medium heat.
  • Lower heat and simmer gently.
  • Cook uncovered for 20-25 mins until thickened, stirring occasionally.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Let sauce cool before serving with grilled meats or as a dip. Enjoy!
