Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup brewed strong coffee as desired
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup red wine vinegar or balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper adjust to taste
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • In a saucepan, combine the brewed coffee, ketchup, brown sugar, red wine vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce.
  • Add minced garlic, smoked paprika, ground cumin, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Adjust the cayenne pepper to your desired level of heat.
  • Stir in Dijon mustard to add depth and tanginess to the sauce.
  • Season the sauce with salt and black pepper according to your preference.
  • Place the saucepan over medium heat and let the mixture simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens to your desired consistency.
  • For a smooth texture, blend the sauce using an immersion blender or transfer it to a regular blender and blend until smooth.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. If you prefer a sweeter sauce, you can add more brown sugar. For a tangier kick, add a splash more vinegar.

Notes

Additionally, you can use white wine vinegar or cider vinegar as substitutes, depending on the recipe and desired taste.
