Equipment

  • Large skillet or frying pan
  • Tongs or spatula
  • Measuring spoons and cups
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Spoon for stirring

Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in pork chops you can use boneless if you prefer
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 medium onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup chicken broth or white wine for a deeper flavor
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • Season the pork chops with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chops from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add chopped onions and minced garlic. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until the onions are soft and fragrant.
  • Add chicken broth (or white wine for a richer flavor) to the skillet, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom. Stir in sour cream, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, and paprika. Mix well and simmer for 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Return the pork chops to the skillet. Spoon some of the sauce over the chops. Cover and simmer for 5-7 minutes until the pork is fully cooked and tender.
  • Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley before serving. Enjoy your delicious sour cream pork chops!

Notes

After cooking, let the pork chops rest for 3-5 minutes. This helps redistribute the juices, making the chops more flavorful.
