  • Airtight container for storage

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper adjust to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chipotle chili flakes adjust to your spice preference

Instructions

  • In your saucepan, combine ketchup, honey, vinegar, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and soy sauce. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 5 minutes, whisking occasionally.
  • Add the paprika, chili flakes, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using). Stir to combine.
  • Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Take the sauce off the heat and taste it. Add more honey for sweetness, more chili flakes for heat, or a splash of vinegar for tanginess, as needed.
  • Let the sauce cool completely, then transfer it to a glass jar or airtight container. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

Special Note
