- ½ cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup honey
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger minced or grated
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons Korean chili paste gochujang
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
- Optional garnish: 1 tablespoon finely chopped green onions
In a medium saucepan, pour in the soy sauce, honey, and brown sugar. Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely.
Mix in the minced garlic and ginger. Let them cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
Stir in the sesame oil, rice vinegar, gochujang, sesame seeds, and black pepper. Continue cooking for another 3–4 minutes.
In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water to make a slurry. Gradually add it to the saucepan, stirring constantly. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.
Once thickened, remove from heat. Garnish with finely chopped green onions if desired.
