Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger minced or grated
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Korean chili paste gochujang
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Optional garnish: 1 tablespoon finely chopped green onions

Instructions
 

  • In a medium saucepan, pour in the soy sauce, honey, and brown sugar. Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely.
  • Mix in the minced garlic and ginger. Let them cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Stir in the sesame oil, rice vinegar, gochujang, sesame seeds, and black pepper. Continue cooking for another 3–4 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water to make a slurry. Gradually add it to the saucepan, stirring constantly. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.
  • Once thickened, remove from heat. Garnish with finely chopped green onions if desired.
