Equipment

  • Medium-sized saucepan
  • Wooden spoon or silicone spatula
  • Grater for Parmesan cheese
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Measuring spoons and cups

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 shallot finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 teaspoons truffle oil white or black, depending on preference
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Melt the butter in a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat until it starts to foam slightly. This creates a rich base for the sauce.
  • Add the finely chopped shallot to the pan and sauté for 2-3 minutes until it turns translucent. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds, stirring constantly to avoid burning.
  • Pour in the heavy cream, stirring continuously. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, letting it thicken for about 3-4 minutes. Make sure to keep stirring to prevent the cream from sticking to the pan.
  • Once the cream is hot and slightly thickened, add the grated Parmesan cheese. Stir until the cheese fully melts into the sauce, creating a smooth, creamy texture.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the truffle oil. Adjust the amount to your taste—white truffle oil has a more delicate flavor, while black truffle oil is richer and more robust.
  • Season the sauce with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Taste and adjust as needed for a perfectly balanced flavor.
  • Pour the sauce over your favorite dishes, such as pasta, steak, or roasted vegetables. Enjoy the decadent, creamy taste that adds a touch of luxury to any meal.

Notes

Truffle cream sauce is best enjoyed fresh, as the delicate flavors of the truffle oil shine through the creamy base. When reheating, do so slowly to maintain its luxurious texture.
