  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Whisk or spoon

Ingredients

  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup strong brewed coffee
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 1/4 cup bourbon optional

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, heat canola oil over medium heat until it shimmers.
  • Add ketchup, apple cider vinegar, and brown sugar to the saucepan. Stir until the sugar completely dissolves.
  • Mix in Worcestershire sauce, yellow mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and salt. Stir well to combine.
  • Pour strong brewed coffee and, if desired, bourbon for an extra kick. Stir to mix all ingredients thoroughly.
