Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder or 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder or 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon honey for a touch of sweetness Optional
  • 2-3 ghost peppers seeds removed and finely chopped (adjust based on your spice tolerance)

Instructions
 

  • Heat some oil in your saucepan and sauté the onion powder/chopped onion and garlic/ cloves minced garlic until softened. Add the chopped ghost peppers and cook for 2-3 minutes until aromatics.
  • Now, pour in the ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, molasses, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, cayenne pepper, ginger, salt and pepper.
  • Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 20-25 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken. Use a blender or immersion blender to achieve a smooth consistency.
  • Give your sauce a taste and adjust seasonings as needed. Do not forget to add honey if you want to taste up your sauce a bit more.
  • Let the sauce cool to room temperature before transferring it to a jar or bottle. Store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
